Back to Ortygia

Like most western countries, Urianian has a many-faceted entertainments scene, and the tourist with time to spare will never find it hard to spend.

Classical music

There are symphonic orchestras in Southend, Borg, Lundeby, Kongelv and Urduk, and they often travel, sometimes abroad. Smaller ensembles play in various venues every week and there is no shortage of listening opportunities for the classical enthusiast.

Folk music

Uriania is famous for its folk music scene. With three major tradition streams in full vigour and several minorities performing with government support, ample concert opportunities are available. The annual Wickford Folk Festival in November often has a wide international participation.

Movie

Every town has at least one cinema, and there are many on the countryside, too. Urianian movie production began in 1923, and annual production is comparable to the Scandinavian countries.

Theatre

Wickford Theatre is the oldest in the country, founded in 1638, and there are other venerable institutions in Southend, Borg, Lundeby and Kongelv.
